About the movie:
The Smurfs 2 is the sequel to The Smurfs movie which came out the summer of 2011. Many of the live action characters from the original movie return in the sequel including Hank Azaria as the bad guy Gargamel and Neil Patrick Harris as Patrick Winslow. Returning in voice roles includes Jonathon Winters as Papa Smurf and singer Katy Perry as Smurfette.
In the movie Gargamel creates his own version of Smurfs called the Naughties. These creatures are like Smurfs, but get into all kind of trouble. They kidnap Smurphette and try to convince her that being naughty can be fun. Will the Smurfs be able to save her before she turns bad?
There is a trilogy of Smurfs movies planned by Sony Pictures Animation. They are all based off of the comic book series written by Peyo (a Belgian comic book artist). It will be two years between the second and third movie with the third movie to be releases the summer of 2015.
