About the movie:
Oz the Great and Powerful tells the story of what happened before the Wizard of Oz movie from 1939. In the film Oscar Diggs (played by James Franco of Spiderman fame) gets carried away by a tornado to the Land of Oz. The people of Oz believe that he is the long expected wizard. At first Oscar is excited, but then realizes that the people really expect him to be a wizard. He also finds that the three witches want to use him. He has to save Oz and figure out who is really evil and who is good.
The movie is a Disney film with a huge budget of $200 million. The director, Sam Raimi, is famous for directing the three Spiderman movies. The cast includes Mila Kunis (from That 70's Show), Zack Braff (from the comedy Scrubs), and Joey King (she played Ramona in the movie Ramona and Beezus). The movie has several characters from the original movie including the witches, the munchkins, and even the flying monkeys.
